Product Detail

A chassis battery module is a component of an electric vehicle (EV) or hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) that stores electrical energy to power the vehicle’s chassis or body systems.

 

The chassis battery module is typically located in the rear of the vehicle, separate from the high-voltage battery pack that powers the electric drivetrain. It is usually a smaller, 12-volt battery that is similar to the conventional lead-acid battery used in gasoline-powered vehicles.

 

The main purpose of the chassis battery module is to power the electrical systems in the vehicle when the engine is not running, such as the headlights, radio, and climate control. It is also responsible for starting the engine in a hybrid vehicle, which typically uses an electric motor to supplement or replace the gasoline engine.

 

The chassis battery module is typically charged by the vehicle’s alternator when the engine is running, and it may also be charged by the high-voltage battery pack in a hybrid vehicle. Like any battery, the chassis battery module will eventually lose its ability to hold a charge and will need to be replaced.
