Product Detail

A chassis battery module is a component of an electric vehicle (EV) or hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) that is responsible for powering the electrical systems in the vehicle’s chassis or body. It is separate from the high-voltage battery pack that powers the electric drivetrain, and is typically a smaller, 12-volt battery that is similar to the conventional lead-acid battery used in gasoline-powered vehicles.

 

The main function of the chassis battery module is to provide power to the vehicle’s electrical systems when the engine is not running. This includes systems such as the headlights, radio, and climate control, as well as accessories like power windows and door locks. In a hybrid vehicle, the chassis battery module is also responsible for starting the engine, which is typically done using an electric motor.

 

The chassis battery module is typically charged by the vehicle’s alternator when the engine is running. In a hybrid vehicle, it may also be charged by the high-voltage battery pack when the vehicle is in regenerative braking mode, or when the engine is running and excess power is available.

 

The chassis battery module provides several advantages in electric and hybrid electric vehicles. Here are some of the advantages of a chassis battery module:

3.Simplified charging: The chassis battery module is charged by the vehicle’s alternator when the engine is running, which is a simpler charging system than the high-voltage charging system used for the electric drivetrain.

 

4.Longer lifespan: Because the chassis battery module is not subject to the high discharge rates and deep cycling that the high-voltage battery pack experiences, it tends to have a longer lifespan.

 

5.Reliable starting: In a hybrid vehicle, the chassis battery module is responsible for starting the engine using an electric motor. This can provide a more reliable starting system than a traditional starter motor.
